Club Events
Our end of year party will be a potluck at Andrew’s place in San Rafael, this Saturday 7.00pm. Please RSVP to seacap@netscape.com if you plan on coming so we can give you address & directions. Looking forward to a fun night to wrap up the 2007 tri season.
Races
Mark M continues to move up the field in his temporary home base of Florida placing 5th in his age group at a recent race in Sarasota. Mark also scored a mention in the latest issue of Triathlete magazine. I think he’s our first member to make it into print (in this mag anyway). Great stuff and very motivating for the rest of us.
The last big tri of the season is Treasure Island (now the SF International Tri) just last weekend. Races were shortened to only bike/run due to the unfortunate oil spill polluting the Bay. If you want to help out the Audobon’s website (among others) lists ways you can contribute:

2008 Board Nominations – Vote Now
The following have volunteered to serve on the Board for 2008. The election is determined by negative vote i.e. if you have an objection to any of the candidate(s) then please email info@triclubmarin.org , otherwise these candidates are deemed elected to the Board. Please respond by end of November 2007 if you have objections.
Candidates for the positions are:
Andrew S – President & treasurer
Phil R – run lead
David R – webmaster
Mike B – sponsorship
Vacancies exist for Secretary and Swim lead – if you have some time to spare to help the Club out please email us at info@triclubmarin.org or come along to our Board meeting on November 15, 2007 at Tam Bank in San Anselmo – 6.30pm. Thanks!
Training Tips
As the season is now over, the best training move you can make is to get some rest! Or more precisely some active recovery. Stop meticulously tracking those miles, heart rate and power output and go be active for just plain fun. Go on a hike, ride a MTB, get ready to hit the slopes, whatever takes your fancy.
Now is also a good time to reflect on your 2007 season – did you achieve your goals, did you even set goals, review your race limiters and begin to think about 2008 – what races you want to do, developing a training plan and so on.
Don’t forget that this time of year is probably the least friendly to our waistlines. Not only is it getting dark earlier making it hard to do any training but food & booze are starting to flow aplenty. Try to endulge in moderation (there’s a paradox for you) and substitute healthier foods for the traditional goodies. If that’s not possible at least cut down the portion sizes.
